How to Use Magnetic Business Cards Effectively

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

By Keith Londrie The use of magnetic business cards is often overlooked. Businesses tend to stick with what they have used over the years, and end up missing out on some new techniques that can help them expand their customer base. All business owners know that marketing is a key factor in growing a business. After all, if nobody knows about your product or service, nobody will buy your product or service. That’s elemetary. Do experiment with magnetic business cards. They typically “stick around” (pardon the pun) longer than ordinary cards. Magnetic business cards can be a very effective marketing tool. In addition to supplying your prospective client with your contact information, you are also ensuring that they will see your information on a daily basis. A magnetic business card is something that your prospective client can actually use. They can put them on their refrigerator at home or at work or on their desk. Every time they use your magnetic business card, they will be reminded of your product or service. I have used this technique myself and have seen sales go up. Also, if you are into promoting your own company, you can place magnetic business cards on your car (blown up size for better viewing) or anywhere else that they may stick. Magnetic business cards do not have to be the same size as regular business cards, but that is also an option. Either way, you are going to make a positive impact. This is not to say that you should not buy regular paper cards as well. The two used together can make a very effective marketing plan. Most business card printers will also be able to supply you with magnetic business cards. These magnetic business cards can appear exactly the same as the paper version, but printed on a magnet. If you would rather have a different design printed, you can do that as well. If your printer does not offer this service, you can check out the yellow pages and find one that does. Or go online and visit Vistaprints. I get all my business cards from them and have for years. Even though magnetic business cards are not used a lot, they can be very effective. Order yourself a couple batches and see if you get any results. This marketing effort can help grow your business without spending a ton of money. And that is the name of the game Keith Londrie II is a well known author. For more information on Business cards, please visit Business Card Information for a wealth of information. Scrapbooking Chalking

Wednesday, August 29th, 2007

By Vera Raposo Chalking adds highlights, dimension, color, and character to your scrapbook pages and embellishments. It is long lasting and comes in dozens of colors. You can choose from single and multi-packs or chalk that comes in pencil form or wafers. Chalking is versatile, inexpensive, easy, fun and sometimes messy medium to give your album a professional look. Acid free chalk can be used on die cuts, stamping, cardstock, patterned papers and vellum. There are no specific tools to apply chalk. You can use the applicator that comes with the set or you can use Q-Tips, cotton balls, make-up brushes or even your fingers. Experiment with what works best for you. A good thing to have is a chalk eraser to fix your mistakes. This should be done as soon as possible because chalk sets quickly. Wipe off excess dust by turning your page over on a paper towel and rubbing the back of your page. It is best if you have a specific area when working with chalk. It can be dusty and very hard to clean up if dropped on flooring such as carpet. You can use chalk to fill in or outline a stencil template or create just the right color for photo mats, embellishments and ribbons. Chalking also adds soft colors and shading to borders and backgrounds. When chalking large areas it is a good idea to prep the area by choosing a color chalk that closely matches the color of your paper. This way there are no obvious lines and your colors will blend easily. Prepping will lighten the detail layers so you might want to use darker colors than the ones you want. Add finishing touches with pen work. Experiment and have fun! Vera Raposo has been scrapbooking since her oldest child was 5. The History of Caviar

Monday, August 27th, 2007

By A Chatfield Caviar has long been around as one of the premier delicacies offered as hors doeuvres or spread on an appetizer for the delight of Emperors, Czars and now party goers the world over. From its roots in the Persian culinary arts, the Roe of most often a Sturgeon has a long and noble history. The first people known to have eaten Caviar were the Persians living in what is now Azerbaijian in the glory days of the Persian Empire. The name of the delicacy as they called it, Chav Jar translates to Cake of Power, no doubt a pun of sorts on the manner in which it comes and those that are able to eat it. The delicacy was soon exported and as powers rose and fell in the world, so too did those that were able to afford and consume the fine dish. The economic value and power of a jar of caviar continued well through the Roman Empires reign. Its said that when caviar was served to the Emperor, it was brought in among garlands of flowers and heralds trumpeted its arrival. Czars of Russia were among the only given the luxury of its consumption during the glory days of their power, especially after Russia took control of the area in which the Persians first discovered the treat. As far back as the 2nd century, during the highest power of Rome, a jar of Sturgeon Roe cost the same amount as 100 sheep. If you fast forward a couple thousand years to the turn of the 19th century, it was possible to find caviar in every bar, pub, and restaurant in New York served along side peanuts at half the cost. Of course, like any natural resource, the results of such ample supply are usual seen in the rapid loss of population in the animal from which it is produced. Overfishing of the sturgeon has led to the sharp uptake once more of the premium on Caviar with the cost not quite approaching that of 100 sheep, but still costing a tidy sum in most countries. America produces nearly 75% of the worlds caviar right now, though it is to be noted that the labeling restrictions in the United States arent nearly as strict as in places such as France, where only the Roe of Sturgeon can be labeled as Caviar. Of course, the kind of fish from which the roe is harvested is always marked on the label on US produced caviar. The fish itself, the sturgeon is nearly extinct because of the overfishing and rampant demand for its roe. As such, the premium for true caviar from the sturgeon is significantly higher than that of Salmon or Lumpfish. Since the dawn of its discovery, the Sturgeon has been a very special fish, hailed for the delicacy hidden inside in its Roe. World leaders for nearly 3000 years have partaken of the incredibly rare treat and shall continue to do so for many more. ***You may use this article on your website as long as the two URLs are hyperlinked. A Very Good Reason Why You Should Get to Know Your Prospects Well

Saturday, August 25th, 2007

By Eve Jackson So, you probably know how important marketing is to your business success. But, do you know where to start? Marketing isn’t magic. Nor is it rocket science, but people have spent an awful lot of time figuring out what works and what doesn’t. There’s no point in trying to reinvent the marketing wheel. Any idea you have has probably been done before, and probably more than once too. Now, that’s no insult. It’s simply the truth. Marketing has been around since… well, pretty much since forever. Marketing involves basic premises that have been tested over time, and more than a little common sense. One of those basic premises has to do with your typical client. Who is she or he? And why is it important to know her well? An effective marketing message is written for that typical client. The best copywriting is like a conversation. While you’re writing, picture her sitting in the chair across from you. She doesn’t want to be talked to, does she? She wants to be conversed with. She wants a conversation. In order to do that, you need to know a little about her. In fact, the more you know about her, the better your conversation is. Who do you have better conversations with? Someone you know only a very little about, or your best friend? There are certain instances where it’s vital to know more than just a little about her. Let me show you with an example. A friend of mine and her boyfriend have taken a trip someplace warm for the last three years. Now, they havent always used the same travel agent, but they did use the same one twice, in the first two years. So, the pattern is a trip every year in January or February, smack dab in the middle of the coldest part of our winter. And trust me, it is cold here in winter. I shiver just at the thought Anyway, doesnt it make sense, knowing that these two have taken a trip every year for the last three, that these two might, just maybe take a trip in January or February of 2007? And if you were a travel agent, particularly one of the two that have helped them with their travel plans, doesnt it make sense to send them a short note wishing them a Merry Christmas, and an oh, by the way, theres a seat sale on such and such a date for Cancun. Would you like me to send you some info about it? Sorry for the long-winded sentence. But doesnt it make sense? Does to me. If I was a travel agent, you can bet your bottom dollar Id be betting those two want to go someplace warm this winter. And you can bet your bottom dollar Id find a way to remind them that I helped them get that great trip last year. And while were on the subject, doesnt it make sense to you to send them a short note before their holiday wishing them a good time? Or a short note after their holiday thanking them? Does to me. Know thy prospect. And know her well. ‘Cuz if you know her well, you can have a conversation with her on paper. You’ll know her deepest wants and desires. You’ll know her deepest problem. And you’ll know how to convince her that you hold the solution. She’ll know you can give her exactly what she wants. The Kingdom of Self-Pity

Thursday, August 23rd, 2007

By Donna L. Watkins It’s so easy to get caught up in self pity when things go bad. All around us we see and hear advertising that tells us life and we are to be so beautiful — and if it’s not that way, it’s hard not to whine about it. Self pity is an awful world to live in. I see it as a kingdom and it’s a dark evil one with muck and mire like quicksand and dark caverns of dungeons with wailing and grief and guilt. It’s such a low place to live because it’s a domain that is beneath the earth. We are doomed to a life of depression if we live there. We have a choice. We don’t have to live in that kingdom or even visit. There are evil spirits who stand at the edge of the entrance to this kingdom. They call to us with all the familiar temptations: ” Poor baby - withdraw - come to me” ” You’re not being treated right - come to me” ” Things never turn out good for you - come to me” ” You’ll never be able to have true joy - come to me” ” Life’s not fair, so don’t play in the game - come to me” ” You’ve been told you’ll never amount to anything. They were right - come to me” Temptaion is not sin. We will always be tempted. It keeps our spiritual muscles strong. If we laid in bed for months we couldn’t use the muscles needed to walk. Life will never be without trials, but Jesus died so that we could overcome through His blood. The entrance to the kingdom of self pity is right by the meadows of joy and peace that God provides for us, but sometimes it seems so hard to walk in a meadow when life has become such a valley. Christ died so that we could always walk in the sunlight and the meadows of fruits of the Holy Spirit. We have to make that choice though. The same as people make a choice on whether to accept the gift of salvation, we need to make the choice to accept the gift of victory. We have to speak the Word to activate the power in His resurrection. Sometimes people drift through various Scriptures and try to remember too much for those times of temptation. Ask God to give you a Word for what you need. We all have different reasons for slipping away from the Light …. but the Word is to hold us steady in His Kingdom. You can memorize and jab at the devil with one Scripture. It doesn’t get old and it never gets dull. That Sword will always keep the enemy at bay and we will always have the strength to continue to fight if we rely on God’s strength and not our own. Choose the meadow full of bright yellow flowers with birds and butterflies and horses to carry us swiftly away from the darkness of sin. There is room to dance in the meadow! He turns our mourning into joy and dancing. In the kingdom of self pity we can’t hardly move with our feet sunk in the mire. The instant we allow any self pity to enter in, it’s like our feet have been grabbed and set in drying concrete. It’s so much work to get back out. We get to choose which Kingdom we live in. In the USA we have freedom to move where ever we want to go. We can choose a state or city and go to live there. In the spiritual realm we get to chose where we live also. Our lives are actually guided by our spiritual choices because we are spirits - that live in a body and have a soul [mind will and emotions]. We have to remember that these body are temporary. We have been created as a spiritual being above all else to fellowship with God, The Creator. Our spiritual choices will determine our health and even our choices of where we live and work. When we choose the Self-Pity Kingdom ruled by a legion of unloving spirits we attract the same environment around us on a physical level. We get the muck and mire of life in our homes and our jobs and our relationsips and we look around in self pity and say, “Life is hard and painful, so why bother to pull myself out again. I just get thrown back in.” It’s really a choice. We have so much more power than we realize because we listen to the devil instead of God. Deut. 30:19 - “I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants.” Ps 16:11 - “You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.” Take God at His Word and seek His face. Maybe the first step is to realize that life doesn’t have to be perfect or according to our plan for it to be good. It’s not about ME — it’s about JESUS. James 1:2 says, “Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials.” Are we even attempting to obey that Scripture? With the world around us shouting that all needs to be wonderful for us, it’s certainly a challenge. I pray that we will redefine what makes life good for us. That we can catch the vision of what God has for us and that it’s not about what I want, but about what God allows into my life to exercise my muscles so I will be spiritually strong for what He has put me on earth to do. ” Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. ” Romans 15:13 Donna L. Women Of Korea Are So Appealing

Tuesday, August 21st, 2007

By Kum Martin The women of Korea often get quite a bad reputation. They are very ethnic looking, like the beauties of the rest of Asia, however they are often seen as being less appealing in general. The bad rap is usually because of the high rates of prostitution in South Korea most notably. However, the women of Korea should not be limited to the assumption that they are all cheap and easy. Women of Korea are extremely beautiful. They have olive skin and beautiful dark hair. Their eyes are traditionally Asian shaped and they are usually in great health. It is rare that you will see an overweight Korean, which is one reason they are often seen as being beautiful. They are often not as hip on the styles of the world as women in the rest of Asia, but they do tend to gravitate toward the same styles Japan flock toward. Korean women are often extremely smart as well. In most parts of Korea however, women just dont have the same educational opportunities as women in other Asian areas. So, most of their intelligence is cultural. They know the ways of the world. They are fantastic cooks and can maintain a home like no other. In addition, they often have wonderful social skills. They are some of the best homemakers in the East and their homes are often spotless and well decorated. Their domestic appeal, beauty, and maturity are reasons people find the women of Korea appealing in many ways. They tend to attract Western men most often and often want to get out of Korea by marrying men of the Western world. Are Weight Loss Supplements Worth It?

Sunday, August 19th, 2007

By Valerie de Armas What do you think of the hundreds of weight loss supplements out there on the shelves today? Are they worth the money? Will they actually help you lose weight? How do you know which ones are going to work for you? Is there any proof that these products work? I’ve taken some time and researched some of the most popular product to try to find the answers for you. The truth is, most products won’t help you lose anything but money. There are a few, however, with some research behind them that prove that they actually work. What are these supplements that work? It seems that only four products hold the best promise for those of us who want to slim down. They are Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA), Hydroxycitic Acid (HCA), phaseolomine, and possibly 5-HTP. 1. Conjugated Linoleic Acid, CLA, has a number of research studies behind it. It is a fatty acid that has been found to reduce cancer risks, body fat and to increase lean muscle tissue. The Journal of Nutrition reported a Scandanavian Research team found CLA to increase the lean body mass of humans and also to decrease the fat mass. Subjects also had lower blodd fat and cholestrol after taking CLA. CLA does occur naturally in meat and dairy products, but the levels are pretty low. Also, if you’re following a healthy low-fat diet, you tend to not get as much meat and dairy, so supplementation may be the answer for getting a healthy dose of CLA. 2. Hydroxycitic Acid, HCA, is derived from a fruit, Garcinia cambogia or Malabar tamarind. It seems to work by inhibiting an enzyme that converts carbohydrates to fat. It also seems to suppress the appetite. Studies on humans have had mixed results with one study showing significant weight loss in participants. Another study using a high fiber diet, showed HCA had no effect on weight loss. Critics think the high fiber diet prevented absorbtion of the HCA. So, if you’re on a high fiber diet, HCA may not be for you. 3. Phaseolomine is derived from the white kidney bean. It works by reducing your body’s absorbtion of starchy carbohydrates. Since you absorb fewer calories, you lose weight. Seems like this supplement would be great to take if you knew you were going to indulge. Research has also shown that you burn more fat while taking phaseolomine. Subjects in one study lost 10% of their body fat in 30 days. Phaseolomine is typically found in carb blocker products. 4. 5HTP works by increasing the level of Serotonin in the brain resulting in more stable emotions, better sleep and weight loss. I take 5HTP myself and have found it to be an excellent appetite suppresant as well as a mild mood booster. In one study where women were given either a placebo or 5HTP and a 1200 calorie diet, those who took the placebo lost 2.28 pounds and those who took 5HTP lost 10.34 pounds. This was accomplished in 6 weeks. Are there other supplements that work? There may be others that will stand the test of time and research, but for now these are the best non-prescription supplements I’ve found to enhance your weight loss efforts. Good luck losing the weight you want to lose! How to Make Handmade Natural Soap?

Friday, August 17th, 2007

By Mikel Freije I learned about natural handmade natural soap through a friend. Once I tried her handmade natural soap, I was hooked. I couldn’t believe how wonderful it made my skin feel. I decided that I had to open a shop because I wanted more people to experience the amazing benefits of natural handmade natural soap. Now it’s become a passion of mine. Once I decided on opening a shop, I did tons of research and tried many different recipes until I came up with my own special blend of oils. I started making handmade natural soap full time in February 2004 and opened the shop in early May 2004. It took us a few months to make enough handmade natural soap to fill up our shop. How is handmade natural soap made? handmade natural soap is made with oils and caustic soda. In the old days, people used to make handmade natural soap with tallow and animal fats. At The handmade natural soap Kitchen, our main ingredient is olive oil. We don’t use any animal fats in our handmade natural soap. There is a chemical reaction that takes place when you mix oils with caustic soda. The oils start to thicken and heat up, neutralizing the caustic soda. The complete neutralization, or curing time, takes about 3 weeks. We add essential oils and herbs to our handmade natural soap for scent, texture and amomatherapy benefits. We do not use any synthetic fragrances or colors in our handmade natural soap. We like to keep things natural and simple. How does natural, handmade natural soap differ from the stuff you would buy at the supermarket? Most commercial handmade natural soap have synthetic detergents and artificial fragrances in them. Many commercial handmade natural soap manufacturers extract the glycerin out of their handmade natural soap and use the glycerin in their lotions, so their handmade natural soap tend to be more drying on the skin. With natural handmade natural soap, the glycerin is retained in the handmade natural soap, which makes for a much more moisturizing bar and a completely different feel from commercial handmade natural soap. Do natural, handmade natural soap last longer than store-bought ones? Many of my clients have told me that our handmade natural soap last a lot longer than store-bought handmade natural soap and I agree. It’s important to take care of the handmade natural soap by keeping it in a well-drained handmade natural soap dish and letting it dry between uses. What are the allergy considerations when it comes to handmade natural soap? It is possible that someone might be allergic to one of the natural ingredients in our handmade natural soap. When in doubt, test the handmade natural soap on a small patch of skin and wait 24 hours. If no allergies surface, it should be safe to use. Help Thou Mine Unbelief

Thursday, August 16th, 2007

By Anthony Smith Help thou mine Unbelief. Our most Gracious Heavenly Father. Your word tells us that we are to put you in remembrance of your word, being faithful servants to the ministry of Jesus Christ, your Son. We know Father that you are able to deliver us from all manner of hindrances and troubles, Illness and disease. This is your word Father; Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me: O LORD, make haste to help me. Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble. And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me. Make haste, O God, to deliver me; make haste to help me, O LORD.For he shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him that hath no helper. This is your word Father; And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me. We will Glorify you in these times of troubles and for your merciful aid. In Jesus name we Glorify you, for thou are worthy. Show us your mercy Father in these times of troubles. I believe Father, help me with my unbelief. Amen. Faith is many different things to many different people. We have those that have faith in man, those that have faith in their money and the money of others. We also have those that have faith in their family and last but not least those that have faith in God. We live by faith and even sometimes die by it also. As my mother lays in a hospital bed, maby dieing, I see faith in God. Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. With faith we receive hope. Hope in things not yet realized, not yet seen. To believe is to turn loose of everything that we see and know as reality. Belief is not based on those things seen but of those things not seen. As with Thomas in the scriptures. Webster says that belief is; A creed; a form or summary of articles of faith. A persuasion of the truth, or an assent of mind to the truth of a declaration, proposition or alleged fact, on the ground of evidence, distinct from personal knowledge; as the belief of the gospel. A persuasion of the truth. Paul stated about persuasion; For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. We are Convinced that by faith, all things are possible. We are induced to believe that God can promise anything and, is able also to deliver upon these promises. We are influenced by the concept that, God exist and that Jesus being His Son, convinced us that all things are under Gods control. If we can accept this idea of an all seeing, all caring God, then we can ask anything in the name of Jesus, and it will be given unto us by the Father. Who then is a son of God? All that believe in His Son and those that are willing to believe in Him. If you are willing to accept the good things from God and also, the chastisement from Him, then you are a son, but if you are not willing to accept His chastisement then you are a bastard and not a son, this according to His word. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. Mar 9:24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. We are convinced by a declaration of a truth, on the ground of evidences, from the scripture, that Gods word is true. We see many proofs in todays world that show us, the Bible is factual. Diggings and archaeological evidence point to the truth. But our faith and belief in God, is not tied to physical proof, but rather a proof of thethings that we do not see, but feel in our spirits. For without faith it is imposable to please God. You can tell a blind man that the sky is blue and the grass is green and he will accept this as truth. Why? Because others have also told him about the things that he cannot see, and their testimony turns your account of these facts into truth for him, which he will accept. So then why cannot we believe in a man, a Son of God, that we have not seen but only have heard about from many witnesses? Luke 12:26 If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest? So then why cannot we believe? Romans 4:20-21; He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. Mat 17:20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. I believe Father, help me with my unbelief. Our unbelief comes from not being fully persuaded in the truths of Gods promises. Doubt comes in and faith goes out. This is the way of the world, but it should not, and can not, be the way of a Christian. For we are in the world, but not of the world. You can see God feed the sparrow and cloth the rose in brilliant pedals, but cannot you believe that He will also cloth you and feed you? Cannot you believe, that as God makes the beast of the field and the bird of the air healthy, He cannot or will not keep you also in the times of distress? For I have seen the miracles of God, and I am fully persuaded that all things are under His control. Even with all this faith, we still are human, and must go on to perfection. Working on our faith, hope and trust in God. Paul also told us to do the same thing. I believe Father, help me with my unbelief. I have seen trees die over night, and roses come upon a dead plant. I have seen the dead raised, and the lost saved. I have seen the seas roar out of their banks, and great earthquakes where none has been. I have seen a child born from a dead womb, and a Child raised up to change the world with twelve men. I am fully persuaded, I have believed in the unseen things and still live. When man says, it cant be so, I believe. When they say, it will not live, I still believe. Heb 11:13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me. Make haste, O God, to deliver me; make haste to help me, O LORD. Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. Ars.
