Romantic Moments: How to Add a Little Spice in your Life

By Michael Douglas Chilli: Hot and spicy tangs can be given to your present boring life by planning out a complete seduction of your spouse or partner. Forget candlelight dinners and moonlight nights - they are so boring. Instead, try something different. Fill up the bathtub with rose petals. Invite the lady into your parlour. Get a bunch of rose petals and spread them along the floor leading to the bathroom. Have the lights off in the whole house and use candles along the way to the bathroom. Prepare a bubble bath for her, and have a silky new night gown, placed on the rail next to some perfume that you like and lipstick that she uses. While she is in the bathroom, clean up the petals that lead from the door to the bathroom, and use them to lead from the bathroom to the bedroom. In the bedroom have a dinner of what she likes to eat. Have rose petals all over the floor and the bed. You could use silk sheets on the bed. And let things happen from there. Give your partner the luxury of some private time, knowing that when you reunite it will be all the sweeter. Undress each other with your eyes closed. Take turns reading romantic poetry or an erotic novel to each other. Act out the scenes, described in the book, and laugh a lot. It is funny! Kiss your partner awake in the morning. Pepper: Put some pepper in your life by opening up the boxes and crates which you have kept away for so many years. Pick out all the letters, cards, notes and other gewgaws which you have accumulated through the years. Have a pen with you. Write down the date and notes of all the present activities of life, as it is in reality, against the paragraphs of your dreams! Then, after you have sniffed over them nostalgically, put them away so that future generations are going to pepper up their life reading them and wondering how great a swinger their grandma was in her time! Make a time capsule. Write down your private thoughts and dreams in letters to each other. Then put them in a box along with a special bottle of wine, or funny souvenirs, and seal it with sealing wax. Don’t open it until your 50th anniversary. Salt: Salt is normally used to add flavour to your food and help you swallow it. Right? So, to add salt in your life, begin to swallow the trials and tribulations you have undergone these years of living and pick your revenge your own way. Contact the person who has been the source of plenty of pain and chagrin to you all these years. Act very cheerful, say that you have forgiven and forgotten your differences, and now you are beginning to wonder how things blew up out of all proportion - laughing all the while - and spend half an hour talking about trivialities in a really light-hearted way. Do not bring back old grievances. Do not complain. At the end of the call, just remember to tell him or her about your new car, new life, new job, new house, and what a success you are making with all of them - and end it by saying that you have achieved something he has been dreaming of. Not only have you taken the best revenge, but he is going to spend the rest of the month, wondering why you called up! After that, please make sure that when he or she tried to contact you, you are out of reach - possibly somewhere in Timbuktu or Paraburdoo or Meghahatuburu. This is called putting the salt on the bird’s “tale”! Ginger: If there’s a great slow dance song playing on the radio, ask your partner to dance, even if you happen to be cooking supper! Spontaneously whisper to your lover where, when, and how you’d like to make love to him or her. Time your declaration for an unexpected moment that’s sure to make your partner blush - one the way to work, at a party, or while shopping! Surprise your love by lip-synching a love song. In your own voice, record a love song or poetry on tape for your partner to listen to on the way to work or when out of town. Mustard: Tell your wife that you have a friend that really really is dying to meet you and her and they are waiting in the car. That person really admires her. But before you do this… get a teddy bear and try to make it look cute by putting sunglasses on it dressing it. Sit the bear on the front seat of the car and put the seatbelt on him. A female teddy bear can be wearing new jewellery. Lead your better half out to the car to meet this “person who wants to meet her” so eagerly. Collect and make a book of poems for him or her. Or you can serenade your lady, stand outside her window and sing her a love song. It really doesn’t matter how bad your voice is or if the neighbours think that you are crazy! All spice: Sing him to sleep. Play in the park like when you were kids. Throw snowballs or jump in leaf piles. Splash in puddles. Replace his bookmark with a love note. Compliment your partner every day more than once. Make it genuine! Brush her hair or wash her hair for her. She’ll love it. One of the most beautiful things I ever saw was done by one of my uncles for his 25th wedding anniversary. He draped the trees and fences with fairy lights. And then in the middle of the party, he switched on the fairy lights and switched off all the other lights, turned on slow music and brought my aunt out to dance under the moon, holding each other close! Now, that is true love! Have a personal code between the two of you. I never knew why my aunt suddenly used to blush or frown in the middle of a family gathering. What I did not know was that uncle was telegraphing,” Hi, sexy!” Or “waiting for tonight!” Showing your feelings and emotions is nothing to be ashamed of. So, guys, learn to live a little and don’t be shy of broadcasting your love to the world! Everyone, male or female, wants the spouse to be a bit imaginative in adding some spice to an ordinary life - so go to it and get a reputation of loving and caring and sharing and cherishing and tender, which is not the prerogative of a female. Here are some great tips that you could start participating in today to jump-start you on your way to looking and feeling more vibrant, younger and leaner for the summer through eternity. Here are some great tips. #1 Drink Water, Water, Water… Water is an essential part of weight loss. Most people do not drink enough water, so don’t worry, it’s not just you. You can lose a few pounds just by increasing your water intake. The reason water helps to aid in weight loss is because your kidneys need a lot of water to function properly and it is your liver’s job to help the kidneys when they are not working to full capacity. Once the liver kicks in to help the kidneys, it can no longer metabolize stored fat into energy as quickly, which is one of its primary functions. If it is metabolizing less fat, then the fat is remaining in your body, which does not allow for fat loss/weight loss. My best description would be - when the body doesn’t get enough food it is said that it goes into starvation mode. Starvation mode is described by the Net Wellness Consumer Health Organization as: “The body responds by using its own reserves to provide energy, and these reserves are not just the body`s extra fat. Initially, glycogen stores are broken down for energy. Glycogen is the storage form of carbohydrate in our body. There is little glycogen available so this energy source is depleted during the first hours of starvation. When glycogen is used, water is released which is noticed as a drop in weight on the scale. These labile stores are quickly replenished when feeding is resumed which is noticed by an increase in weight”. When the body does not get enough water it goes into survival mode, so that it could hold onto every drop of water that is stored. Also, your muscles need water to function properly. Did you know that our body is made up of 55% - 78% water? This varies depending upon which article, book, or research that you read. Everyone is different. They say that newborns have about 74 % - 78% water. Women and men have different amounts of water in their body due to the body fat that women carry for childbearing years. Women are made up of about 55% and men about 60%. It is also said that obese people have less water than thinner people. A person’s water count is primarily due to the fat content in their body, and fat has lower water, this is why overweight people have a lower amount of water in their bodies. The amount of water that you should consume is 8 glasses of 8 oz. servings per day. In my studies, I’ve read time and time again that in order to lose weight the amount of water you must be taking in is of your body weight in ounces. In other words, if you are 150 lbs. you should be taking in 75 ounces per day. If you are extremely over weight, your body has larger metabolic loads so you need even more water. When an overweight person drinks the sufficient amount of water while losing weight he/she will decrease the amount of sagging skin once they lose the weight (so it is said). Spread out your drinking through out your day. I find that it’s easiest for me when I’m exercising. Carrying your bottle with you also makes a difference. If you work out a lot or are very active, drink even more water. Do not wait until you are thirsty because by then you are already dehydrated. #2 Exercise Or Get Active If you haven’t started an exercise program yet, then get yourself into a gym, health club or on an exercise regimen. What are you waiting for? Always check with your physician first before embarking on any healthy lifestyle change, whether it be a new diet or and exercise program. Start an exercise program immediately after checking with your physician. You don’t have to start BIG. Get started by either going to a gym, going outdoors, or doing exercise DVD’s. Start with 2 days per week then work your way up to 3 days, until you work up to 5 or 6 days per week to achieve weight loss. Have fun with it. Perhaps find a place that has racquetball, tennis, and a swimming pool also so that you could also partake in fun activities. You want your routine to stay fresh so you want to add in as many fun activities as possible. Make exercise the exciting part of your day. Remember, change makes change so keep on doing different types of routines. Cardiovascular exercise/Aerobic exercise is great for burning calories. Weight lifting, which is also known as resistance training, plays a big part in maximizing fat loss. For weight loss you need to use light weights so that you could do higher “reps” (repetitions = the amount of times you perform the exercise). You should be able to perform 15 - 25 reps. On the last couple of reps there should be some difficulty. You will want to do 3 - 4 sets. If your goal is to add muscle mass then you want to perform 6 - 12 reps and use heavier weights. Also experiencing difficulty during the last 2 reps. Again, you will want to do 2 - 4 sets. You cannot get the same effect using any other method of activity. Lifting weights/Resistance training is the way to go for body fat reduction. There’s so much more that I’m not including but this article could go on and on. #3 Eating Healthy The most important way to change your body, your health, and your mental alertness is to change your eating habits. If you still have that little tummy and you are doing everything else right, you probably haven’t changed your eating habits. To lose weight you could do a couple of different things. One would be to cut down and eat in moderation. Eat half of your normal serving of food and if you must eat dessert, share it with a friend. Another way would be to cut down on your simple carbohydrates. Some of the simple carbohydrates include: pasta, white bread, white rice, cookies, cakes and candies. This means any food with simple sugars. In place of these foods you would eat either whole grain foods or you would eat more vegetables. You will also want to make sure that you are taking in a sufficient amount of calories each day and you are not cutting out fats all together. There are good fats and bad fats. The three types of fats are: SaturatedPoly-unsaturatedUnsaturatedSaturated fat comes from animal sources. It is the kind of fat that gets hard and white at room temperature such as lard, butter, margarine, etc. hence BAD FATS. Saturated and poly-unsaturated come from plants. It’s considered more of a vegetable fat that stays the consistency of oil at room temperature - GOOD FATS. Eat Your Fruits And Veggies Your parents didn’t tell you that when you were growing up for nothing. There’s a good reason. Fruits and vegetable have all of your essential nutrients. Eating vegetables raw will supply you with many of the vitamins, minerals, enzymes and fiber that are needed each day. Eating them cooked is good too but they do lose a lot of the nutrients. Fruits and vegetables also raise your energy levels. They help lower cholesterol and regulate blood sugar. In some journals it is said that they help control high blood pressure. Scientists now agree that fruits and vegetables should be the foundation of a healthy diet. If you really want to get the benefits from fruits and vegetables purchase a juice extractor. What a juice extractor does is it gives you all of the vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and sometimes even protein and fats (depending on what you include in your drink) that you need to cleanse the body. It really depends on how your body works as to which way you will want to take on the lifestyle change to get yourself looking and feeling better. If you incorporate all of these habits into your life you will be a healthier, more focused YOU! Focus on good health and fitness and you will get good health and fitness. There is a far tighter relationship between type2 diabetes and obesity than an interesting statistic equivalent raise. That 80% of type2 diabetes sufferers are overweight or obese suggests a strong link on its own merits. The prevalence of type2 diabetes has skyrocketed in the past 30 years, statistics revealing a somewhat similar percent in the alarming rise of obesity during this same period. In fact studies have proven beyond doubt that the onset of type 2 diabetes may be dramatically delayed with an active healthy lifestyle plan. The 10 million American people considered in the high risk group of people likely to develop type2 diabetes can lower their chances of becoming sufferers of typ2 diabetes with a recommended diet and exercise plan as according to the findings of a large scale clinical trial conducted by the Indiana University school of medicine and 26 other participating nationwide medical centers. The results were so conclusive that the trial was ended early. Subjects selected for the trial were selected from a broad spectrum of the population likely to develop diabetes. Namely people who were overweight with impaired glucose intolerance, a condition that often preceded type2 diabetes. Other subjects included individuals aged over 60, women with a history of gestational diabetes, and people with a close blood relative with type2 diabetes. Participants assigned to the lifestyle intervention plan, maintaining active physical exercise for just 30 minutes a day recorded a reduction in the likelihood of developing this disease by a staggering 58%. Adding weight to further support the suggested link between type2 diabetes and obesity is research conducted by a team of scientists from the Pennsylvania school of medicine. The team had been investigating why a class of drugs, thiazolidinediones (TZDs) were effective in combating diabetes. The findings indicated that TZD drugs are likely to be have been successful by targeting a hormone. Is there a link between diabetes and obesity? Recent studies suggest an answer to this pertinent question. Scientists led by Michale Lazar, at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, had been examining why a class of drugs called thiazolidinediones (TZDs) can help fight diabetes. They discovered that TZDs cause the bodys cells to utilize insulin more efficaciously, and this told them that the TZD drug could be targeting a hormone. The hormone called resistin is produced is produced by fat cells in mice. This same hormone is present in humans. Speculation suggests that the hormone resistin has evolved to deal with periods of famine. When resistin levels were lowered the mice tested recovered the ability to transport glucose though their systems. Important in establishing the link between type2 diabetes and obesity was the finding the finding that high levels of resistin were present in mice obese from overeating. Over a decade of research on diabetes has found that nutrients in the body such as glucose and fat contribute to insulin resistance. Experts do not indicate that being overweight causes type2 diabetes, but the chances of developing the disease are more likely for overweight persons. Individuals may better prevent type2 diabetes with improved lifestyle activity and a more careful nutrition plan.
